Three years ago I began my journey of working remotely. It wasn’t really a hard transition for me since I already did lots of freelance work while still doing a full-time job. Being a 100 percent freelancer was much easier than working in the morning and freelancing in the afternoon.

I believe there are so many benefits with working remotely and I recommend it to everyone, but of course, there are some big challenges also. My biggest problem was that I wasn’t feeling connected to the rest of the team I was working with. More and more people are working with colleagues that they never see, so the communication can be the biggest challenge for remote teams. Luckily we have a lot of great tools today to make communication a lot easier.

Do you work from a home office or some other location away from colleagues? Or maybe your company doesn’t even have a real office? Well, just follow these simple tips shown in this awesome infographic and you will never feel like you are not connected with the rest of the team. For example, you can create a chat group on Skype where you can talk with your colleagues and exchange ideas. And that is completely free, so you don’t have to break your budget to stay connected.

There are also some easy ways to create a digital office. You can use Sqwiggle for that. Sqwiggle is an always-on online workplace for a remote team to work together throughout the day and feel more connected. Sounds very cool.
